Millions of our nation's youngest children have experienced profound suffering in many forms — domestic violence, abuse, neglect, natural disasters, extreme poverty, illness or the loss of a parent. The trauma a child faces as a result of these tragic circumstances is a largely silent epidemic, yet it cripples development, devastates young lives, and shortens life expectancy. Exposure to early childhood trauma is the greatest health crisis facing children in our nation.

Through its Playmakers Initiative, The Life is good Kids Foundation is committed to transforming the lives of children by supporting childcare professionals who are dedicated to the healthy development of young children deeply impacted by trauma.
